The Life of MARVIN L BARSNESS
Marvin L. Barsness, 86, died Saturday June 19, 2004 at Taylor House Hospice. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Grandview Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2004 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
Marvin retired from the Des Moines Community School District in 1982 where he was a cabinet maker. He was a charter member of the Marsteinen Lodge, Sons of Norway and Grandview Lutheran Church. Marvin served in the 34th Division in the US Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Barsness, Des Moines; daughter Linda Barsness, St. Louis, MO, Beverly McAlpin, Red Oak; daughter by friendship Carol Rosenband, St. Louis, MO; sister Helen Ohr, Cannon Falls, MN.
Memorials may be made to Grandview Lutheran Church or Taylor House.
