Dad

The first dollar I ever made was when Dad took us around a neighborhood to pass out flyers for Stomac when he worked for them. That was quite a deal back then!

I remember when Dad took us 3 girls sledding at the Fairgrounds. He sent Judy down first & Janet & I behind her. Since there were 2 of us on one sled we were heavier so we went faster & ran into Judy knocking her off. She skinned her knee & that was the end of sledding.

One year for Thanksgiving the turkey we had was full of pin feathers so Mom was plucking them out. She needed to run to the store so she left Dad in charge. When she got home he had skinned the turkey. Boy was she upset. She ended up wrapping cheesecloth soaked in butter over it & it turned out great.

I have way too many memories to share them all. I was blessed to have a great father. He was always there for his family & friends. Anyone who needed help he was your man. There is a saying “Only the good die young.” That was certainly true in his case. I love you & miss you Dad & think of you often. Til we meet again in Heaven Rest in Peace.
