The Life of THOMAS V CULLEN

Thomas V. Cullen, 61, of 500 SW Kirkwood Ave., died of cancer Friday at home.  The body will be cremated and memorial services will be at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Cathedral, of which he was a member.  Burial of the ashes will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Cullen was born in New York City and had lived in Des Moines for 20 years.  He was director of residence services at Drake University.

He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Bellizzi-MacRae American Legion Post and the Izaak Walton League.

Survivors include his wife, Irene; two sons, Daniel of El Paso, TX, and Thomas of Fort Dodge; a daugther, Sharon Kloppenburg of Des Moines; his parents, Richard and Margaret Ireland of Denver; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dowling High School, the Hospice of Central Iowa or Drake University.

Tom was most happy when we were at our cabin at Lake Ponderosa and he was fishing off our pontoon boat with the dog nearby.
