The Life of LOIS BERNICE CAMPBELL

Lois Bernice Campbell died Sunday, December 10, 2006 at Trinity Center at Luther Park after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. Lois was born in a farm home in rural Warren County, Iowa January 7, 1911 to Latie (Brown) and William F. Park. Lois grew up on a farm near Indianola and attended a one room school. When her family moved to Des Moines, she attended Oak Park Elementary and graduated from North High School. She worked in the accounting department of Northwestern Bell until her retirement. She attended Comtometer School while working at Northwestern Bell. Lois married Cy L. Campbell. Lois and Cy owned and operated Lo-Cy Lunch, a restaurant at 611 University and relocated to 2125 Easton Blvd. for nearly a quarter of a century. She and Cy had two children, Craig and Kayla Dee. Lois enjoyed traveling with her family, working in her yard, reading and helping others, especially those in her family. Lois is survived by her children, Craig Cy (Barbara) Campbell of Des Moines and Kayla Dee (Jim) Lovett of Turlock, CA; her grandchildren, Karin (Tom) Beschen, Tara Campbell, Chad Campbell, Laura Badgley, Nina Saldubehere, Ethan Saldubehere; great-grandchildren, Steven & Seth Bright, Tyler Beschen and Carson Badgley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Helen, Osie (Barker) and Aylene; brothers Dale and Frank Park; and her husband, Cy Campbell in 1972. Memorial contributions may be made to Unity Church of Des Moines or The Alzheimer’s Association.
