The Life of RAYMOND JACKSON

Raymond Jackson, 78, of the 4000 block of 39th Place died of cancer Friday at home.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glen Echo Christian Church, of which he was a member.  Burial will be at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Jackson was born in Redfield and had lived in Des Moines most of his life.  He was a retired data postal supervisor for the US Postal Service and a Navy veteran of World War II.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge, National Association of Postal Supervisors and the Mr. and Mrs. Club.  He enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Glenna; three daughters, Deanna Jackson of Des Moines, Martha Lisantti of Phoenix and Ellen Prust of Urbandale; a sister, Esther Vallejo of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Westover Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
