The Life of BARBARA JEAN DONALDSON

Barbara Jean Donaldson, 77, passed away at home on December 23, 2003, after a lengthy illness with cancer.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church on East 12th.  Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Southtown Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew David and Nellie Viola Lineweaver and her sister, Lois Hatfield.  She was born in Des Moines on August 1, 1926.  Barbara attended Lincoln High School where she greaduated in 1944.  She married Guy Edward Donaldson on May 26, 1946 and resided in Des Moines all of her life.  Barbara was the manager of the Iowa Press Clippings Bureau, Secretary/Treasurer of Donaldson''s Furniture and most recently President of Creative Travel Consultants.

She was active in the Civil Air Patrol, and was a member of the Polk County P.E.E.R. Advocate Group and a volunteer with the North and South Side Senior Citizens Line Dancing.  She was an active member of St. John''s United Methodist Church in Des Moines.

Barbara is survived by her husband Guy; a daughter, Sandy Law (David) of West Des Moines; a son Mike Donaldson (Kerry) of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Catherine Parr of Des Moines and Eloida Gray of Jacksonille, AL.  She is also survived by four grandsons, Andrew Law (Patty) of Des Moines, Lance Donaldson (Krista) of San Diego, CA, Brandon Donaldson (Samantha) of Loveland, CO and Brent Danford of Cedar Rapdis.  Also surviving are her nieces and nephews.

Barbara touched many lives in many ways with her unconditional love.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
