The Life of RAY J SCHLICHER Sr.
Raymond J Schlicher Sr., 65, of the 3000 block of Fox Hollow Circle died of a heart attack Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at noon Saturday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Schlicher was born in Fort Madison and had lived in Burlington before moving to Des Moines in 1967. He was a general insurance agent with American National Insurance Co. and enjoyed his pets, reading and watching sports and nature programs.
He is survived by his wife, Scherri L. Cori; a son, Raymond Jr. of Carlisle; two daughters, Krista L. Zelinsky of Tulsa, OK, and Camala M Winter-VanDeHay of Fort Collins, CO; two stepsons, Timothy Cory of Des Moines and Toby Cory serving in the military; two brothers, William of Crawfordsville, IN, and Stanley of Mason City; two sisters, Alice Hoenig and Barbara Merschman, both of Fort Madison; 12 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Lifeline of Iowa in Carlisle or Morningstar Baptist Church.
