The Life of DONALD H LINT

Donald H. Lint, 69, the retired founder and chief executive officer of Lint Transfer & Van Lines, died of a respiratory ailment Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Lint was born in Van Meter and had lived in Johnston 10 years.  His current address was 8348 NW 86th St.

Besides his business activities, Mr. Lint also came to prominence during his family''s quest to find out what happened to his son, Mike, an Air Force gunner who disappeared after his plane crashed in Laos in 1970.

Mr. Lint was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Norwalk, Auburn Masonic Lodge, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Des Moines Chapter of POW/MIA.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; a son, Terry of Clive; a daughter, Julie Florer of Mitchellville; two brothers, Kelly of Panora and Lewis of Cape Coral, FL; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
