The Life of BERNETA EVELYN LESTER
Evelyn Lester, 72, of 3203 Seventh St., died of a heart ailment Friday at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Park Lutheran Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Lester was born in Zearing and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She retired from the Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Among survivors are her husband, Jack; a son, Jack of Des Moines; two daughters, Judy Ross of Ames and Denise Lester of Mitchellville; a brother, Gerald Blessing of Maxwell; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Park Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or the Animal Rescue League.
