The Life of MARGARET MARY OWENS
Margaret Mary Owens, 84, of Elsie Mason Manor died of a respiratory ailment Monday at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Grandview Park Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Owen was born in Des Moines and had lived here most of her life. She was a homemaker, an avid bowler and enjoyed sewing, knitting and ceramics.
She is survived by a son, Jim Kane, and a daughter, JoAnn M. Pierce, both of Des Moines; three sisters, Theresa Hamilton of Ankeny, Martha Martin of Hammond, IN, and Eva Luing of Baxter; two brothers, Joe Williamson and Ray Williamson, both of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner Owens.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
