The Life of DAVID JAMES SCALISE
Services for David J Scalise, 23, of 6814 NW Alderman Dr, who died at Mercy Hospital Medical Center after he was struck by lightning while boating Saturday, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mel''s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Scalise was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He was a research programmer for Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and Ducks Unlimited.
Survivors include his parents, James and Norma "Sherry" Scalise of Saylorville; three sisters, Leisa Scalise of West Des Moines, Kim Scalise of Des Moines and Cindy Scalise of Saylorville; a brother, Nick of Saylorville; and his grandparents, Dorothy Scalise and Norma Murphy, both of Des Moines.
Friends may call anytime today at Westover Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today.
