The Life of LEON R MEASE
Leon Mease, 78 of Urbandale died Sunday, February 11, 2007, at Deerfield Retirement Community. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 1 ½ miles north of I-80, at the corner of 2nd Avenue and NW 60th Avenue; visitation will be 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday evening. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Leon was born September 18, 1928 in Van Horne, Iowa. He married Carol Wiegner on January 1, 1950. Leon was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. He worked for Montgomery Wards, Sears, and Ruan as the Fleet Tire Sales Manager. Leon was an avid Hawkeye and Cubs fan, loved dancing, golfing, bowling and playing cards. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family.
Leon is survived by his wife Carol of 57 years; his sons, Tim (Kristin) Mease of Clive, Randy (Lori) Mease of Des Moines, and Kevin (Chris) Mease of Indianola; 6 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leona and Glen, and his brother, Bill.
Memorial contributions will be donated to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
