The Life of HAZEL M SEARCY EDMUNDSON
Hazel Redmon McMillen Searcy Edmundson, 91, a resident of Valley View Village, died Friday, April 9, 2004 at InTrust Hospice Taylor House. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 16, at Hamilton''s Funderal Home on Lyon Street, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Valley View Village.
Hazel was born in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was a member of Grant Park Christan Church, Senior Singers of Des Moines, Ramsey Guild and Valley View Guild.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Janice Hook of Solon, and Karen McMillen of Newton; son, Dean Redmon of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Frank Ferren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lillian Benson; husbands, Perry McMillen, Ed Searcy and William Edmundson; her brother, Harold Benson; he stepson, Franklyn McMillen and his wife, Doris; and her granddaughter, Terri McMillen.
The family would like to thank Frank Ferren and her pastor, Craig Robertson for all the things they have done for her.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Park Christian Church, Valley View Village Van Fund or InTrust Taylor House.
