The Life of BRANDON JAMES POORE

Brandon James Poore, 10, son of Doug Blom of Des Moines and Pam Poore of the 200 block of Northwest 42nd Place, died of cancer Tuesday at Mercy Hospice-Johnston. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Brandon had lived in Des Moines all his life. He was a third-grader at Norwoodville Elementary School, a Boy Scout and a member of St. Peter''s Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling, camping, swimming and riding his bike. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Brandi Poore, and three brothers, Bradly Poore, Bryce Poore and D.J. Blom, all of Des Moines; his grandparents, Bonnie Carico of Urbandale and Bill Sloan and Jim and Rose Blom, all of Des Moines; and his great-grandfather, Manuel Negrete of Des Moines. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brandon James Poore Memorial Fund.
