The Life of J E MURDOCK

Graveside services for J.E. Murdock, 62, of 2921 E. Thirty-seventh St., who died of a stab wound in the chest at his home Friday, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Memory Gardens. The death was ruled a suicide. He was born in Cave Springs, Arkansas, and had lived in Des Moines since 1947. Mr. Murdock was a welder, retiring in 1967 with a disability. He was a member of Boline Manfredi Post of the VFW, Pearl Harbor Survivors, Highland Park American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Wilma of Des Moines; a daughter Jaylene Barton of Des Moines; two grandsons, his mother, Eva Murdock of Springdale, Arkansas; a sister Kathryn Lacy of San Antonio, Texas, and a brother, Richard of Independence, MO.
