The Life of GWENDOLYN T. BRAUN

Gwendolyn Braun (Tester), 64, of Reading passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Gwendolyn was the loving wife to Michael Braun for over 21 years before his passing in January 2002. Born in Reading, Gwen was the daughter of the late Donald Tester and Virginia (Watt). She was a graduate of Reading High school, and went onto graduate from Alvernia University with a Bachelor's of Science, Biology and Chemistry. She later went to work as a phlebotomist for Pottsville Hospital and also worked at St. Margaret's Catholic School, with the lunch program. In addition to working with the lunch program, she spent many years volunteering at the school as well. Gwen loved animals and volunteered at local animal shelter. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her pets.

Surviving Gwen is her children, Erika M. Albright, wife of Larry, of West Lawn, Dana E. Getz, wife of Barry James, of Narvon, and Drew M. Braun, of Berks County. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Gwendolyn is predeceased by her sister, Salinda M. Cambria.

Prayer service will be held at The Chapel of St. George, Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605, on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. 9 Street, Reading, PA 19601 on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
