The Life of Mrs. Bernice Naomi Bahn

Bernice Naomi (Welsh) Bahn, 97, of York died Sunday, April 21, 2024, at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Eugene R. Bahn. Mr. and Mrs. Bahn were married for 67 years prior to his death in 2015.

Born November 29, 1926, in York, she was the daughter of the late Walter W. and Elizabeth I. (Wolf) Welsh.

Bernice was a 1945 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. She was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church and served on the PTA of her children’s elementary school. Bernice volunteered for the American Red Cross for 15 years at York Hospital.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Elizabeth Brown and her husband, Gerald of York and Judith Copeland of Moosic, PA; 4 grandchildren, Katherine Walsh, Stephanie Decker, Gregory Copeland, and Michelle Brown; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory R. Bahn; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Trinity Road, York, PA 17408. A viewing will be held Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
