The Life of John Matthew Scorce

John Matthew Scorce, 88 years old, passed away on November 21, 2023 in Alexandria, Virginia.

Jack was born on March 5, 1935 to Louis and Marie Scorce in Brooklyn, New York.  He attended Brooklyn Preparatory High School, Fordham University majoring in accounting, and St John’s University Law School. He married Denise Fauci on August 22, 1959. 

Jack served in the US Army subsequent to his college ROTC program. After law school he began a career as a corporate attorney in the telecommunications industry which spanned several decades. 

He was instrumental in the break-up of the telecommunications monopoly. After retiring Jack was a volunteer for several years and a board member of the United Community Ministries organization in Alexandria, whose mission is to serve the most impoverished areas of Fairfax County. 

Jack is preceded in death by his son Eric Scorce. He is survived by his wife Denise Scorce, daughter and son-in law Joli and Wilfred Fekeci, grandchildren Nicolas and Jacklyn Fekeci, Stefan Fekeci, Brandon Scorce, Kayla Scorce and great-granddaughter Delilah Fekeci. 

Visitation will be held at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home 1500 W Braddock Rd, Alexandria on Sunday Dec 3 from 2-5. Funeral Mass will be held at Nativity Catholic Church 6400 Nativity Lane, Burke on Monday Dec 4 at 11:00 am. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the United Community Ministries.
