Mary Lou Robertson, 80 of Vinton, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Grubbs and Sarah Goad. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Robertson; sisters, Blanche Dooley, Helen Arthur, Mattie Wyrick, Brenda Fernatt, Phoebe Mitchell and Judy Caldwell; brother, Manuel Grubbs.
She was a strong woman. She fought a long Battle with many health issues. She was a good mother and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters, Lenora Wimmer (Donald), Tracy Gross(David) stepsons, Jeff Robertson(Mechille), Barry Robertson(Carrie); sisters, Jane Plunkett(Henry), Vickie Muse(James); brother, Ray Grubbs; grandchildren, Scott Hannon(Krystal), Mary Ann Smoot (Kyle), Amanda Janney, Timberly Bratton (K.C.), Ashlie Phenes (Tyler), Erica Jarrells, Brittany Gross, Brandon Gross, Chad Robertson, Lauren Wimmer; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; special friend, Tom Fernatt; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (hdsa.org) as our family has been deeply affected by the disease.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm, Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Lotz Funeral Home, 305 E. Washington, Ave., Vinton. Celebration of Mary Lou’s life will be held 10:00 am, Monday, April 8, 2024, at Lotz Funeral Home-Vinton with Pastor Travis Keith officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery-Vinton.
