January 21, 1931 – March 29, 2024

Janis Perdue Hayden, 93, of Vinton, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 29, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Julia Perdue; her husband of 66 years, William Wade Hayden Jr. (2018); her infant son, Daniel Marcus Hayden; two brothers; and two sisters.

Surviving are her children, William Wade Hayden III (Leslie), Thomas Alan Hayden (Laurie), Jeffrey Keith Hayden (Julie), Carol Janine “Jan” Hayden Bishop (Robert), and Philip Wesley Hayden (Cindie); 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Fike (Herschel); and many nieces and nephews.

She was a dedicated mother who loved the Lord and her family. Her love for children and service extended as she was a foster care mother for many years. She loved crafts, sewing and working jigsaw puzzles. She was also a long time member of Lynn Haven Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Lynn Haven Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bob Hetherington and Pastor Bryan Crouch officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
