James “Jimmy” R. White, 70, of Vinton, Va., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his father, George R. White and Ardith “Daisy” Johnson.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice W. White; daughters, Rebecca L. White and Keisha B. White; and granddaughter, Carmen L. White.

He enjoyed fishing (especially cat fishing) and was a lifelong deer hunter with an impressive 12-point buck as his best ever. Jimmy was a NASCAR fan with Dale Earnhardt “The Intimidator #3” being his favorite. He also ran his own race car at Franklin County Speedway.

Jimmy was employed at Magic City Auto as a body work specialist for his entire life. He enjoyed the challenge of taking a damaged vehicle and restoring it.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel and also one hour prior to the Graveside Service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Mountain View Cemetery. Condolences may be made at www.Oakeys.com,
