Mary Leigh Sciulli, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 2nd, 1929, in Waynesburg, PA to Thomas and Hazel Seals (Stewart), both of whom preceded her in death.

BeLoved wife of the late Pasquale “Patsy” Sciulli, Mary is survived by her devoted children Patricia Sciulli (McClure), Lisa Sciulli, and Tommy (Karen) Sciulli. Mary is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Sean Mckenna, David McClure Jr. (Brooke), Ashleigh Solie (John), Justin Sciulli, and Adam Sciulli in addition to 5 great-grandchildren, Lucy Solie, Liam McClure, Ella Solie, Cole McClure, and Jack Solie. She was preceded in death by her siblings Charles, Betty, and Pauline.

Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Mary was a devoted great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, wife, sister, and friend. She was known for her nurturing spirit and her ability to make everyone feel welcome in her presence. Her home was always filled with laughter and the joy of family gatherings.

In addition to being a pillar of strength for her family, Mary was a beloved member of the Edgewood community where she served as a crossing guard for 47 years. Mary took care and watched over multiple generations of children as they went to and from school and gave countless dogs treats as they passed by her corner. Mary retired from her post as Captain of the Edgewood crossing guards in 2018, upon which she was honored by the Mayor of Edgewood, Borough Council, and Police Department.

Whether through her work, community activities, or acts of kindness towards neighbors, she made a positive impact wherever she went.

Mary had a passion for her family which brought her much joy throughout her life. She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, joyful spirit, and kindness.

Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas L. Nied Funeral Home Inc., 7441 Washington Ave, Swissvale, PA. Friends will be received 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 4th. An 11:00 am service will be held at Thomas L. Nied Funeral Home Inc. on Friday, April 5th at 11:00 am followed by a burial at Allegheny Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Animal Friends of Pittsburgh in Mary's honor.
