The Life of Audrey Hancock King

Audrey Blanche King, 87, of Roanoke, passed away, Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Star City Rehab and Nursing.

She is survived by her son, Doug King and wife, Kathy; daughter, Diane Bouldin;  five grandchildren, Jessica King, Erin Ferguson, Michelle Hayden, Jason King and Joshua King; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews including a special niece, Debbie Kavanaugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Richard Hancock and Lacey McGuire Hancock; her husband, Milton Delano King; son, Richard “Dickie” King and sister, Marie Cornelius. 

Audrey was a lifelong resident of Roanoke.  She retired from K-Mart as a bookkeeper and merchandiser with over 25 years of service.  She loved travelling and enjoyed going to the beach with her family.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 9 – 10 AM in Oakey’s Downtown Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park.
