The Life of Ronald Butler

Ronald “Ronnie-B” Jeffri Butler, 65, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife, Terri Lynn Butler, his two sons, Anthony Lombardi and Brent Lombardi, his daughter in law, Tara Lombardi, and his best friend of 50 years, Jim Stratton. Ron was born in Great Falls, Montana, raised/lived in Alexandria, Virginia and retired to Virginia Beach, Virginia. Ron attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He started his career working for the ATF Bureau before landing a job with the Social Security Administration, at which he worked for 25 years before retiring in 2002. In the 1980’s, Ron had worked as a Real Estate agent in Northern Virginia and after retiring he continued his favorite job with Wainwright Realty in Virginia Beach. Ron loved bowling, billiards, fishing, eating crabs, rooting for the Green Bay Packers, and tending to his flowers in his garden. Ron and Terri loved taking trips, gong on cruises, exploring small towns, their beach days, and happy hours. As long as they were together they were having fun. Ron also really enjoyed watching his grandchildren play together.

 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, William and Estelle Butler, of Alexandria, Virginia. Ron is survived by his wife of 33 years, Terri Lynn Butler and his mother-in-law, Josephine Thompson. Ron had two sons, Anthony Lombardi and Brent Lombardi, and three grandchildren, Isla, Max and Lyla. He also leaves behind his two dog-children, Lucy and Ricky. He has four remaining cousins, Jay Johnson, Martin Johnson, Johnny Johnson, and Anita Wildman.

 

A celebration of life service will be held at 11am on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, located at 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd, VA Beach, VA 23452. Immediately following the service there will be a reception held at one of Ron’s favorite restaurants, Dockside Restaurant located at 3311 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Burial service will be held at the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, VA in the coming weeks. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home starting Thursday, March 14. Donations can be made in Ron’s name to the American Cancer Society, BonSecours Hospice of Virginia Beach, or the Humane Society of Virginia Beach.
