The Life of Virginia Hazel Tuck

Virginia Hazel Tuck, “Granny”, age 102 passed away peacefully at her home in Woodbridge, Virginia on Sunday, March 10, 2024 surrounded by family.

Preceded in death by her parents Abraham and Flora Williams, her sister Maxine Tucker, brother James Williams and son, Charles Tuck. She is survived by her sons Vic Tuck and Alan Tuck, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.

She was born in Simmons, Floyd County, Virginia on July 20, 1921. She married Wilson Ray Tuck in 1939 and moved to Alexandria, Virginia where she lived for 75 years before moving to Potomac Place Assisted Living in Woodbridge, Virginia. 

In 1970 Virginia went to work at Alexandria Hospital as a dietary worker where she retired in 1990. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, puzzles, books, reading and visiting with family and friends.  Virginia was a charter member of the Arlington Church of the Brethren and was honored to be part of the ground breaking ceremony in 1957 for the new church building. She was a social butterfly, had a great sense of humor, and very young at heart. Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Arlington Church of the Brethren, 300 North Montague Street, Arlington, Virginia 22203 beginning at 9:00 am with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am. The Church is hosting a lunch for family and friends immediately following the service.

Burial will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery, 2823 King Street, Alexandria, Virginia  22302 at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 18, 2024.
