The Life of Phillip Andrew Pruitt

Phillip Andrew Pruitt, age 54, passed away unexpectedly February 29th, 2024. He was born July 13th, 1969, in Shelbyville, (Bedford County) Tennessee. The son of (Buddy) Alton Pruitt, Jr and Sara A. Pruitt.

Phillip graduated from Rockingham County High School, Wentworth, North Carolina, class of 1987. Before his passing he worked as a Senior Territory Manager of Yokohama Tire Corporation, Commercial Sales. Phillip was a loyal volunteer at Lynchburg Daily Bread and Stepping Stone Mission. He regularly attended Franklin Heights Church — Rocky Mount and enjoyed volunteering there.

When not volunteering, Phillip spent his free time enjoying music, traveling, and all things outdoors. He loved attending and working at Christian Music Concerts. He took pride in his car and supported his two favorite teams, the Carolina Tar Heels and Dallas Cowboys. He will be remembered as a fun loving, outgoing, and loving father, son, brother, and friend. Phillip Loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Phillip is survived by his son, Phillip Cameron Pruitt and his fiancée Haylea White of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Mackenzie Richardson and her husband Tyler of McLeansville, NC; his grandmother, Billie Ann Pruitt of Murfreesboro, TN; two brothers, Mark Pruitt and his wife Penny of Conover, NC, Adam Pruitt and his wife Tracy of Ruffin, NC; aunt, Janice Brothers; uncle, Dwight Pruitt (Geneva); many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at Franklin Heights Church — Rocky Mount on Thursday, March 7th at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Stan Parris officiating. Visitation will be held at Franklin Heights Church —Rocky Mount at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, VA 24065. In lieu of flowers and memorials, the family request that Donations may be made to Fostering Champions, 690 S. Main St, Rocky Mount, Va.
