The Life of Elizabeth (Moser) Purcell

Elizabeth M. Purcell, 92, of Pottsville, died Thursday at The Gardens at York Terrace nursing home, Pottsville.

She was born July 30, 1931, in Cass Twp., a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Berick Hollick.

She was a graduate of Cass Township High School and Empire Beauty School.

Elizabeth was a hairdresser all her life and also taught hairstyling at Empire Beauty School and the VoTech, Mar Lin, prior to retiring. She also taught line dancing in her spare time.

She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Moser and George J. Moser Jr., and two brothers, Joseph, and George Hollick.

Surviving are her husband, Francis "Frank" Purcell; nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Elizabeth be made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
