The Life of LINDA J. KIRKLAND-LAW

Linda Jean Law

October 19, 1950 ~ February 7, 2024 (age 73)

Linda Jean Kirkland’s story begins on October 19, 1950, at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Linda is the first child born to Rev. Charles and Jean Kirkland who lived in Wilkinsburg, PA. As the eldest child, Linda was raised to love God and support her younger siblings: Charles, Christine, Carol, and Donna. It is with God’s love that Linda grew up within the church as part of the youth ministry and youth choir. Linda graduated from Wilkinsburg High School. Her service to God at a young age led her to fall in love with God’s Word, God’s Music, and her high school sweetheart (the love of her life), Dwight C. Law.

On January 1, 1970, Linda J. Kirkland married Dwight C. Law on his birthday. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, Linda and Dwight start a life together as husband and wife. Their love created 2 children: Nicole (born in Pittsburgh) and Dwight II (born in Glendale, CA). As their children grow up in Glendale, CA, Linda and Dwight raise their family to love the Lord with all their heart, mind, and spirit. God leads the Law family on different paths in their lives.

Linda’s path leads her to return home to Pittsburgh, PA, and start her journey in ministry. With her parent's support and love, Linda attends Greater Works Outreach Bible School to earn her certificate of ordination. In trusting God’s order of steps, Linda begins to minister throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area for different church denominations. Eventually, Linda started New Joy Ministry filled with determination to share the gospel with anyone who would listen to God’s Word, a prayer, or even a song.

Linda’s love for God helps her serve and support the Wilkinsburg community. Linda becomes a Chaplain, serves as a board member for the Pittsburgh Housing Development Association (PHDA) and Wilkinsburg Sun Community Newsletter, as well as supports the community as a volunteer police member and an election worker for the polls. Linda enjoys helping to make Wilkinsburg a community full of love through different program opportunities at Hosanna House.

Linda found that her mission in life is to inform and build communication bridges that would strengthen communities, encourage happiness, give support, and create soul mindfulness to enhance one’s experience and help evolve a person for a greater tomorrow. Linda communicates very passionately any chance that she can that her love, her life, and her best friend is Jesus Christ.

Linda decides to take her ministry to the next level and accepts the calling to serve as a Minister at Legacy International Worship Center under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Michael Day. Linda works under Legacy to reach the senior community and continues her dedication to the Lord.

Linda’s final journey to return home to glory happens on February 7, 2024. Linda is home celebrating God’s love with her parents Charles and Jean Kirkland, her son Dwight II, and all God’s children who were called home to glory.

Linda’s life is celebrated by her siblings Charles, Christine, Carol, and Donna, her beloved daughter Nicole, her nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and all the daughters and sons of the Most High God. Linda will be remembered by all who know her for her willingness to help others, her passion for sharing God’s Word, her praise and worship, her hugs, her prayers, and most of all her loving smile.
