The Life of Mrs. Diana Carol Taylor

Diana C. Taylor (nee Dany), aged 69, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 13, 2023, following a lengthy illness.

Born on August 19, 1954, in Elyria, OH, Diana embraced Vermilion as her home for the last 31 years.

She embarked on a fulfilling career after graduating from South Amherst High School in 1972 and Beautician School, dedicating 17 years to hairstyling at Salon Elegance in Elyria. Her spirit of service extended to her tenure in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, where she proudly achieved the rank of lieutenant.

A cherished member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Vermilion, Diana was also actively involved in the Vermilion Power Boats community, notably serving as the Yacht Club's secretary. Her passions encompassed gardening, golfing, exploring the waters through boating, indulging in travel-particularly relishing cruises-and cooking.

Diana is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Gary Merthe Taylor of Vermilion, OH; stepchildren, Charles (Rhonda) Taylor of WV and Sue (Butch) Perry of Akron, OH; adored grandchildren, Forest, Meranda, and Brenden; brother, Robert L (Mary Ann) Dany of Clyde, NC; and her cherished niece, Anne-Marie of NC.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Andrew R and Katherine (nee Stec) Dany.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio, on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.

Inurnment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
