The Life of Mr. Martin V. Walsh

Martin V. Walsh, 86, of Mechanicsburg died Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his home.

A Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired Hearing Officer from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. He received his master’s degree from Syracuse University. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Mechanicsburg. Marty was known as a hard worker, and a great father and husband. He was an avid Notre Dame fan.

He was born October 30, 1936 in Troy, NY to the late Vincent and Helen (Fleming) Walsh. He was also preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Frank Mears, and sister, Karen Hoffman.

He is survived by his wife, Mary J. (Fisher) Walsh; sons, Marvin V. Walsh, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Michael T. Walsh (Diane) of Butler, and Mark R. Walsh, (Lisa) of Lewisberry; brother-in-law, Ken Hoffman; grandchildren, Renee Simpson (Blake) of Rockwell, NC, Cynthia Sower (Tom) of Georgetown, KY, Alyssa Walsh of Thomasville, Corrine Walsh, DVM (James Powell) of Coatesville, Branson Walsh of Dillsburg, and Garrett Walsh of Butler; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am Friday, November 3rd at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 310 Hertzler Rd., Mechanicsburg.  Private interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York.
