Marie was a longtime parishioner of St. Edmond Catholic Church. Her faith and her family were everything to her, and she valued the friendships she was blessed to enjoy. A 1969 graduate of Judice High School, she played clarinet in the school band. She was a member of the Buttross Jewelers-sponsored bowling team at Lafayette Lanes in the 1970s and a recipient of the Women's International Bowling Congress' 600 series patch. A beautician by trade, she excelled at hairdressing and took great pride in her work. She loved to throw parties and entertain and was an avid Pokeno player. Her favorite color was red, and her allegiance to the University of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns was fierce and unshakable.

Pallbearers will be Anthony J. LeBlanc, Larry Durio, Richard Yandle, Logan Lopez, Greg Stutes, and Danny Minter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Stutes, Nicholas Yandle, Gerald Stroud, Daryl Boudreaux, Paul Begnaud, Don Begnaud, Shawn Anslem, and Johnny Knickerbocker.

The family would like to recognize the invaluable support and generosity of Richard Yandle and his wife, Paulette; Larry Durio and his wife, Sue; Conrad Bercier and his wife, Aimee; and Paul Begnaud and his late wife, Juanita. Life would be incomplete without friends that you can depend on for a laugh or a shoulder to cry on, and Sylvia Stroud and her husband, Gerald, partners in hijinks par excellence; Beulah Trahan; Debbie Huval; Margretta Soileau and her husband, Jerry; Betty Falcon and her husband, Andy; Mary Leonhard; and Lauren Leger and her family were among those treasured souls.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Marie's team of home-care coordinators Sheila Cyprien, Diane Johnson, and Geraldine "Gigi" Francis, whose round-the-clock attention and tireless devotion to her comfort and safety will always hold a special place in our hearts. In addition, the family would like to recognize Virigina LeBlanc, Shirlaine LeBlanc, and Theus Prejean; Samantha Bernard and the staff of Right At Home; and Scotty Hebert with Grace Home Health for their key contributions to Marie's care.

The family would also like to recognize a host of physicians and specialists who cared for Marie, including Dr. Bradley Dowden and chronic-care nurse Amy, Dr. Chancellor Donald, Dr. Elpidia Hernandez Balbastro, Dr. James Lipstate, Dr. Patrick Juneau, Dr. Patrick Laperouse, and Dr. Stephen Person. We thank them for their attention to detail, patience, and kindness.

The loss of her beloved Francis in 2021 was devastating, but the quote that defined their devotion to each other, "I love you more than the world," is a fitting epitaph to complete the journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marie's name to the American Cancer Society and your local animal shelter or pet advocacy group.
