The Life of Mrs. Alyce Mae Suereth

Alyce Mae Suereth, 91, passed away at her residence on January 24, 2018. Born on April 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Beulah and William Stallsmith. Alyce is survived by her son, Dirk and his wife, Judy, her son, Luke; grandsons, Bryan and John; and granddaughter, Abby. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Eugene; her daughter, Lori Jo; granddaughter, Katie; and her brother and sisters.

Alyce was a graduate of York High (Class of 1944) and West Chester University. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in North York. In her early years, Alyce would substitute and sometimes teach fulltime for the Central York School District. Later, she taught Health and Phys. Ed. at Dover Intermediate School for 20 years.

Although the last few years were rough, Alyce always said she had no complaints and that she had lived a good life. She loved her family and the people she taught with. Alyce also had a wonderful group of friends with whom she and Eugene played cards, golfed, traveled, and laughed with.

Donations can be made electronically to the SpiritTrust Lutheran Homecare and Hospice Service at www.spirittrustlutheran.org/foundation/donatenow/ or mail to the SpiritTrust Lutheran Foundation, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, York PA 17404 (write "Hospice" on the check).
