On May 10, 2023, Florence Helen (“Tudy”)  DeWalt, age 92, of the North Hills, beloved wife of the late John Edward DeWalt; mother of Suzanne DeWalt, Jeannine (Patrick) Devine and Caroline (Jennifer Robbins-Mullin) DeWalt; grandmother of Patrick Devine, Caroline Devine, Thomas (Kayla) Devine and Meredith DeWalt; great-grandmother of Adeline, Charlotte and Emelia Devine.  Tudy was preceded in death by her brother Varick Schwartz.  

Married to the love of her life for over 50 years, Tudy was also a loving and supportive mother.  She was a life-long reader and instilled that same enthusiasm for literature in each of her daughters. Tudy worked for several years as an elementary school teacher and carried her love of teaching and learning into retirement by tutoring students.  She enjoyed painting with watercolors and acrylics and valued the friendships she developed in the painting courses she took.  Tudy loved travelling and the arts.  She and John often joined their dear friends, Bob and Gretchen Peck, in theater subscriptions and European adventures.  Tudy’s daughters never grew tired of hearing their mom described as “classy,” “elegant,” and “beautiful.”
