The Life of MARGARET ANN RORK

Margaret Ann Rork, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Trinity Center in Des Moines while under the care of UnityPoint Hospice.

Margaret was born July 23, 1940, at Station Hospital in Fort Des Moines, Iowa, to Alfred and Isabelle Morrell.

She loved reading, completed numerous sewing, needlework and quilting projects, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Altoona, Iowa.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Rork-Watson (Doug), Patty Barrer, and Sally Gonzales (Aaron); her grandchildren, Randall, Jacob, Jennifer, Jessica, Joelle, Elias, and Nicole; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, John Morrell (Melinda); and her half-brother, David Long (Kathy).

Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Morrell and her mother, Isabelle (Long) Morrell.

According to Margaret’s wishes, cremation will occur, and a celebration of life service will be held later this spring.

The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Trinity Center and the compassionate hospice team for their excellent care of Margaret.
