The Life of Janice Belle Girvin

Janice Belle Girvin, age 86, passed away at her home in Bel Air, MD. Born in Pennsylvania on
November 30, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Abigail Shields Jones Anderson and the late
Hugh Bernard Anderson. 

Janice was a devoted mother of Donna (Grande) Godwin and her husband Kirk, the late Theresa
(Grande) Rosen and her husband Jeffrey, Vincent Grande and his wife Karen, and Melissa
(Grande) Pape and her husband David; loving grandmother of 6 grandchildren, Brett, Amanda,
Jennifer, Gabriella, Jordan, and Abel; and 15 great grandchildren, Arthur, Alexandra, Lauren,
Tabitha, Lily Belle, Carmella, Godwin, Isabella, Bronson, Augusta, Holden, Isabella, Giuliana,
Shields, and Callahan.

Janice’s talents included sewing, painting, decorating, writing, and gardening. Her passions
included travel, love of her dogs, cats, and birds, horse racing, reading, antiques, fine things,
cooking, entertaining, puzzles, the beach, and the game Jeopardy.
Two previous marriages ended in divorce.
