The Life of Mrs. Katie I. Danner
Katie I. (Reinert) Danner, 87, of District Township, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Wilson A. Danner who died on May 2, 2016, and whom she married on July 20, 1957.
Born in District Township, Katie was a daughter of the late William I. and Annie Marie (Steele) Reinert, and was a member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis. She was a 1954 graduate of Boyertown High School and later, Joyce Art School of Cosmetology, Allentown. Katie was a hairstylist in Allentown for several years, but for most of her life, she was a homemaker who took great pride in her home and raising her family.
Katie is survived by her two daughters, Katherine A. (Danner), wife of David W. Schantz, Alburtis, and Karen L. (Danner) wife of Jeffrey Willett, Macungie; sister, Ruth (Reinert) Acker; brothers, William H. Reinert and David L. Reinert; four grandchildren, Megan E. (Schantz), wife of Jeffrey Ruth, Matthew D., husband of Rochelle (Goins) Schantz, Nathan D., husband of Daniele (Conrad) Schantz, and Bryan A. Danner; and five great-grandchildren, Asher, Heather, and Allis Ruth and Michael and Evelynn Schantz.
Along with her husband and parents, Katie was predeceased by her son, Allen W. Danner, who died August 1, 2005; and siblings, Earl, Carl, Wayne, John, Paul, and Raymond Reinert, Arlene Bauman and Helen Fenstermacher.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Katie's life will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 E. Weis Street, Topton, with The Reverend Martin Milne officiating. Burial will follow in Huffs Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family requests contributions be made in Katie's memory to Huff's Union Church Memorial Fund, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA 18011.
