The Life of Celia Tres
Obituary - Celia (nee Landes) Tres, 86, of Drexel Hill, PA, died March 10, 2023 at Paoli Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, she received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Universidad de Buenos Aires before emigrating to the US in 1978. She and her husband Juan settled their family in Drexel Hill. She was a Social Worker for the Commonwealth of PA in their Yeadon office retiring in 2010 after 20 years of service. She had also worked for Women in Transition and the JFK Community Mental Health Center in Philadelphia.
She loved all music including classical, opera, Latin and her beloved tangos. Celia was once an active member of the Bryn Mawr Film Institute and took film courses at the Univ of Penn. She loved movies especially old Italian films.
She spent time at the Philadelphia Meditation Center in Havertown.
Her love of her children could only be surpassed by the special connection with her grand kids; Andrea, David, Zachary, Michael, Carlos and Cisco.
Beloved wife of the late Juan who died in 2002, in addition to her grandkids Survivors: include her son, Carlos Tres of Drexel Hill, daughters, Mariana Tres of Portland OR and Alejandra Tres of Vashon WA;
Visitation will be 10am to 11:30 Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill followed by a graveside service at 12 noon
