The Life of Kathleen A Wieser

Kathleen Augusta Wieser (Wirth) passed peacefully on November 26, 2022, after suffering from Alzheimer's for several years. Her son (Kevin Wirth), daughter (Lynn Johnson) and granddaughter (Dorothy Anderson) were by her side.

She was born and raised in Elyria, Ohio until she moved to Jacksonville, Florida several years ago where she had an apartment and lived near her son until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Once diagnosed she moved in with her daughter and family of whom she disowned at an early age.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her mom (Gladys) and dad, (Harry) 3 sisters, Joyce, Barbara and Phyllis, 1 great-grand son Stefon and her husband Jerry Allen Wieser.

She has left behind 1 sister, (Vivian) 2 children, (Kevin and Lynn) 5 grandchildren, (Dorothy, Kathleen, Megan, Laura and Kyle) and 7 great-grandchildren (Devin, Javon, Angelic, Alice, Autumn, Lilly and Rose). Thank you to Penny, Dianna and Rhonda for being there for the family.

Kathleen helped and took care of a lot of people including her late husband's children (Scott Wieser) and (Randy Wieser) she was there for their weddings and the births of their children, however after the death of her husband his children ignored her and kept the grandchildren from her, this bothered her, but she held her head high and moved on.

There was also (Linda Lakocy) that was around until Kathleen moved to Florida. Kathleen would go on about how Linda was coming to take her back to Ohio for a visit. Kathleen would get excited and start to pack and tell me of all the things her and Linda would do. I confirmed this with Linda, but every time it was time for her to go back Linda had an excuse. Kathleen was upset for a little while but made the best of it and then finally with her Alzheimer's she eventually forgot all the broken promises from her. She forgot everyone and everything, Kathleen started a new life not knowing anyone, except for her son, daughter and granddaughter. Her son and daughter eventually became just that man and woman. As her disease progressed, she needed someone to be with her at all times. While her daughter was at work her granddaughter (Dorothy) become her companion during the day. They would go to Thrift stores and out to eat. Kathleen loved eating at The Cracker Barrel and taking home the little bottles of syrup. Kathleen and Dorothy formed a special bond and even though she did not know her name she would always recognize her.

It's funny how the ones she wanted nothing to do with are the ones by her side helping her through her daily struggles. Kathleen was a strong-willed person and always spoke her mind and you always knew where you stood with her. Here favorite saying was "Horse shit and bananas".

While living in Ohio she volunteered at the Salvation Army and was a Bell Ringer for many years.

For all of you she was there for I hope you are living a good life. You deserted her in her time of need when she lost her husband and as she grew older. You know who you are. You are welcome to show up for the viewing and the service. For her sake we will be civil to you but don't expect anything more than that. We don't need you to claim to be saddened or caring towards us. Just remember how she was there for you but were not for her. Instead of sending flowers that she cannot see and enjoy we ask that you honor her memory by sending a donation to your local Salvation Army.

Visitation time will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 10-11am at Busch Funeral Home 114 Second Ave., Elyria.

Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Cemetery, Amherst.
