The Life of Jean Lee Powers

Jean L. Powers 90 

Mrs. Powers passed away July 5, 2022. She was the daughter of Samuel Howard Jenkins and Bernice Kahoe Jenkins native Harford County citizens. She was born in Norfolk, VA on March 5, 1932 and reared in Harford County. 

A graduate of Slate Ridge High School and Towson State Teachers College. She retired after a 35 year teaching carrer in Harford County. 

Mrs. Powers was married to Munroe Holley from 1953 to 1975 by whom she had two sons Robert Holley and Scott Holley who also reside in Bel Air. She later married Arnett Powers Jr who died in 2002. 

She enjoyed reading, Scrabble, crossword puzzles, playing bridge and other card games. She also enjoyed watching the Ravens and Orioles. She wished to be remembered for her non-judgemental grace and her ability to make people feel good about themselves. She will be remembered for her wit, sense of humor and her devoted loving spirit. 

She is survived by Bob Holley, Scott and Lorraine Holley, stepson Arnett (Rusty) Powers III of Texas. She is also survived by Renee Weber, Aaron Weber and Tara Ford step grandchildren, 5 great step grandchildren as well as her sister Joan McCrabb, husband Donald McCrabb and three nephews Mike, Don and Doug Mccrabb.

Please no flowers. Donations may be made to the Harford County Humane Society or a favorite charity. 

A service will be held at Bel Air Memorial Gardens Saturday July 30th at 2pm in the chapel. Celebration of life gathering following at the family residence.
