The Life of Mr. Donal R. Lambdin

Donal R. Lambdin, age 78, of Amherst, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.

He was born on March 22, 1944 in Pennington Gap, VA. Before graduating high school, Donal enlisted in the United States Army and after his honorable discharge, moved to Elyria, living in the Lorain County area ever since.

He was a driver for E&L Transport for more than 20 years, retiring from there at the end of 2006. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 0118 in Amherst.

Donal's grandchildren were very near and dear to him and he loved every second that he spent with them. He was a talented silver smith and was especially good at making jewelry and enjoyed traveling, fishing, and watching western movies.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jeanne M. (nee Tomasic), his sons; Donal R. "D.J.", Jr. (Jenny) Lambdin, of Sylvania, OH and Kevin A. (Jennifer) Lambdin, of Toledo, OH, his 6 beloved grandchildren; Lauren, Rachel, Ashley, Justin, Brooke, and Ryan, his brothers; Paris (Linda) Lambdin, of TN, Earnest (Jane) Lambdin, of NC, and John (Rita) Lambdin, of Bowling Green, OH, and his sisters; Priscilla Roberts, of Xenia, OH and Peggy (Verg) Miller, of Wakeman, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Paris Lee and Daphne (nee Doss) Lambdin, a brother, Ricky P. Lambdin, and a sister, Sandra "Sonnie" Brooks.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30th, from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.

Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
