The Life of John C. Kirby

KIRBY John C. Kirby, 65, of East Hill Rd, Oxford, died Tuesday at the Griffin Hospital. He was the husband of Carol Bowolick Kirby. Born in Richmond, Va., on January 30, 1945, son of the late Grover and Laura McFadden Kirby. John was a service tech for General Electric, a communicant of the Church of the Assumption and an avid Golfer. Survivors besides his wife are one daughter Lynette Salvermini (Michael) of Carlstat, NJ; two sons Paul Kirby (Victoria Jelenik) of Oxford and John Kirby (Irene) of Oxford; one sister Patricia Swanson (John) of Forked River, NJ; one brother Ronald Kirby of Orlando, Fla.; and six grandchildren Kyle Krom-Kirby, Nicholas Krom-Kirby, Daydra Galambos, Desire Galambos, Seth Salvermini and Sean Salvermini. His funeral services will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff St., Ansonia to the Church of the Assumption for a mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling Hours will be on Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Tee of CT or American Red Cross, Valley chapter, Service to Armed Forces through the funeral home
