SUNSET ~ Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Andrew "Andy" Trahan, age 77, who passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at his residence in Sunset.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette. Pastor Carl Benton of Living Glory Church will officiate at the services.

Mr. Trahan was a native of Maurice and a resident of Sunset. He was employed as a machinist all of his life. Andrew, better known as "Andy", was an incredible athlete having received a scholarship in basketball at his high school graduation.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marella Hayes Trahan; two sons, Timothy S. Trahan (Kim) and Jonathon A. Trahan (Rhonda); seven grandchildren, Amber, Kristia (Cory), Jordan (Ashley), William, Breanna, Madison (Russell), and Molly; nine great grandchildren, Brant, Gary, MaKayla, Xavier, Blake, Piper Li, Wade, Bailey, Chloe and Gracie; and one brother, Larry Trahan (Kay).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Annie Trahan; five brothers; and one sister.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. Thursday until service time on Thursday.
