The Life of Marian L. Peppel

Obituary - Marian Lucille (nee Hess) Peppel, 88, of Springfield, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2021, while at home. Born in December 1933 in Dillsburg, PA, she was the daughter of Clyde and Emma Romaine (Weaver) Hess. Marian was raised in the United Brethren Church and was devoted to her faith throughout her life. Marian was a graduate of Dillsburg High School and received her BA in Education from Lebanon Valley College. An Elementary School Teacher, Marian later worked for Dr. Frank Vogel and retired from BCM International.

 Marian was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Springfield, the Mount Olivet Union Campmeeting Association in Dillsburg, PA, the P.E.O. Sisterhood (a philanthropic group) and OES (Eastern Star). Marian will be remembered for her beautiful soprano voice. She began singing at the age of 3, studied music in college, sang in choirs through adulthood, and was an often-requested soloist. Marian also enjoyed puzzles, gardening, helping others, having lunch with friends, and visiting with her children and grandchildren.

 

Marian was the beloved wife of the late Raymond A. Peppel with whom she shared 53 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2016. Survivors: include her children Brian (Sarah) Peppel, Linda N. (Glenn) Hartman, brother Leon Hess, and 4 grandchildren, Lindsey and Laura Peppel and Justin and Rachel Hartman.

 

Service: Memorial Service will be 11 am Sat. January 15, 2022, at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington; 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, 19026, where friends may call after 10 am. Interment: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA 19026

Contributions: in her memory to First Presbyterian Church of Springfield would be preferred.
