The Life of Mr. Winthrop Bibbins

Winthrop S. Bibbins, age 95, of Stratford, beloved husband of Dorothy Throp Bibbins, passed away on December 10, 2021, in Bridgeport Hospital. Winthrop was born in Easton on February 7, 1926, to the late Stanley and Evelyn (Curtis) Bibbins and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Bassick High School and Bridgeport Engineering Institute (BEI). Winthrop was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was a retired Substation Supervisor for the United Illuminating Company. He was a member for over 70 years of the American Legion Post #160 Easton. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 65 years, include his devoted children, Arthur Bibbins and his wife Donna of Oxford, Joyce Kvaka of Stratford, and Kenneth Bibbins and his wife Deborah of Simsbury, 2 cherished grandchildren, Christopher Kvaka and his wife Jessica, and Mikayla Bibbins, a great-granddaughter, Jenna, sister, Shirley Knecht, brother, David Bibbins, and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside funeral service with full military honors, officiated by Rev. Tim Hare on Thursday, December 16th at 1:30 p.m. meeting directly at Oaklawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
