The Life of Hazel Tingley Hummel

HUMMEL Hazel Hummel, age 80, wife of the late Franklin Hummel and resident of Ansonia, died November 12. She was born September 29, 1930 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Harold and Mary McLaughlin Tingley. She worked as a bank teller and later as an assistant manager for the former Union Trust Bank in Derby. She served as Registrar of Voters in Ansonia until her time of passing. Survivors include four sons, Mark Hummel of Shelton, Erik Hummel of Southbury, Kirk Hummel of Oxford and Clark Hummel and his wife, Joann of Wallingford; her sister, Joyce Robison of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, Erik Tracey and Sara, Gabrielle, Elise and Trevor Hummel; and one great-grandson, Alex. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 10 a.m. from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Friends may call on Monday, 5 to 8 p.m. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice Home Care for all the loving care they gave to Hazel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one's favorite charity
