George Spaeth

George D. Spaeth, 60, passed away at the Reading Hospital on Sunday, January 10, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE he was the son of Pierina "Rena" (Zuccarini) Spaeth, of Wyomissing, and the late David George Spaeth.

George was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, where he served as a lector.

He graduated from Holy Name High School in 1978 and King's College in 1982 earning a degree in accounting.

George worked in accounting at General Battery for many years and later at Hollywood Video where many people knew him by name.

He loved blasting music, football especially the Carolina Panthers, being with family and friends, jokes and fun and especially loved making his nieces and nephews laugh. He also had a love for movies, and theater, and volunteered at Easter Seals as well as other charitable groups. Proud of his Italian heritage, George was a longtime member of the Victor Emmanuel, II Society. He was a sensitive, loving pet owner and cared about everyone in his life, and he always made sure to make people smile.

George is survived by his daughter Rebecca A. Spaeth of Wyomissing. He is also survived by five siblings: Lorraine A. (Paul) Lawrence, of Sun City, AZ, Charles M. Spaeth of Wyomissing; Mary A. (Robert J.) Skimski of Temple, David G. (Colleen) Spaeth of Atlanta, GA, and Elizabeth A. (Donald) Mengel of Wyomissing. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive him. He was predeceased by his former spouse Tracey Bradbury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church 740 Cherry Street West Reading, PA 19611. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church or School, P.O. Box 6217 Reading, PA 19612. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611 is in charge of arrangements.
