The Life of Ms. Nora Nancy Goggin

Long-time educator Nora Nancy Goggin, age 87, passed away on January 6, 2021 in Newtown, CT. Nancy was born in Stamford, Connecticut in 1933 to the late David Edward Goggin and Martha Flaherty Goggin.

She was a 1951 graduate of Stamford High School, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Connecticut in 1955, her Masters from the University of Iowa in 1957, and pursued further graduate work at the University of Maine and the University of New Hampshire.

Nancy was a longtime parishioner of St. Pius Church in Fairfield and was a member of St. Pius’ Forget-Me-Nots. Nancy was an accomplished linguist and taught World Languages, primarily Spanish, for 25 years in the Fairfield Public School system, retiring in 1985.

She was a devoted New Englander, having spent many summers in Hyannis, Massachusetts and coastal Maine. She was predeceased by her brother, James, and her sister, Jacqueline. She is survived by many cousins. Services were private with interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
