Coleen Frances Perry
October 22, 1935 – December 28, 2020

The family of Coleen Frances Perry, age 85, is saddened to announce her passing on December 28, 2020 at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Coleen was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born on October 22, 1935. Coleen attended East High School in Des Moines. She married army veteran, Clarence Perry on December 31, 1956. She worked for Banker’s Life for several years. She also volunteered several years during the elections at her local voting site. Coleen loved bell collecting, vegetable and flower gardening. She loved jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, stamp collecting, making Christmas candy, going to the Iowa State Fair, crafting, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her 5 grandchildren and 12 very energetic great-grandchildren.

Coleen is survived by and lovingly remembered by her husband, Clarence Perry of Pleasant Hill, of almost 64 years; sons, Dan (Nancy) Perry of Urbandale and Don (Deb) Perry of Urbandale; grandchildren, Laura (Landon) Peters, Grant (Tiffany) Perry, Luke (Amber) Perry, Amy Perry, and Emily (Stephen) Englund; 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; half-brothers, Mike (Carol) Roland and Joe (Kathy) Roland; and half-sister, Cindy (Larry) Tovrea.

She will be forever missed by all of her family and friends, but they will cherish all of their treasured memories with her.

Private family graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Blank Children’s Hospital, 1200 Pleasant St, Des Moines, IA 50309.
