The Life of Rachel SantaLucia Elliott

Rachel C. Elliott, 83, beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Elliott of Ansonia, died Friday December 26, 2008 at the Church of Christ Care Center in Michigan. Born in Waterbury, November 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ann Hardigan Santalucia. Rachel was employed in the Valley banking industry for 30 years and previously worked for the Ansonia School System. Rachel is survived by her devoted daughter, Robin and her husband James Howe of Michigan; sons, Thomas and his wife Marie Elliott of Ansonia and Gary Elliott of Branford; seven grandchildren, Patrick (Kara), Caitlin, Brenda Howe of Michigan, Erika (Ralph) Ruggiero of Derby, Courtney (Jamie) Matroni of Ansonia, Sean and Kate Elliott of Branford; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Carter Ruggiero; several nieces and nephews; a sister, Corrin (Ciro) Bunocore of California; and a beloved sister-in-law, Marjorie Griffin of Ansonia. She was predeceased by sisters, Nancy Judd Keefe and Mary Downey. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday from the Bennett Funeral Home, Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Assumption. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
