The Life of Mr. Larry Jack Wells

Larry Jack Wells, 76, of Welaka, Fl and formerly of Dillsburg passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Haven Hospice, Gainesville, FL. He was born November 8, 1944, in Harrisburg, PA and was one of six children born to the late Miles and Gladys (McFarland) Wells. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Carol (Landis) Wells. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Crystal Reed (companion of Floyd) of York Springs, Duane Wells (Deb) of Wellsville, Melissa Barber (Rick) of Dillsburg, Paul Wells (Heather) of York; grandchildren, Jennifer Brown, Emily and Nick Wells and Ashely Barber; great-grandchildren, Chase, Desiree and Chole; and his sister, Betty Gingrich. Larry was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by his brothers, Miles, Jr., Dale, Carl and his sister Doris Wells Brockman. Larry was retired from Harley Davidson, Inc. of York after 21 years as a truck driver. He was also employed with Penbrook Hauling for 10 years. Larry was a member of the Travel Resorts of America, Boat U.S., Moose Lodge #184 of Palatka, FL, Ooida, and Thousand Trails. Larry enjoyed camping, boating, and was a sprint car enthusiast. But most of all he loved vacationing with his family and especially his grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 9:30 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. Burial will be held in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, York. Viewings will be held Friday from 6-8 pm and Saturday from 9-9:30 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County Racing Club, 568 Yale St., York, PA 17403 or the Haven Hospice, 4200 NW, 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
